Ella

Ella came to us a feral kitten, along with her mother and 4 siblings. They were found under a trailer house. Ella loves to be loved. She is a sweetheart. Although she doesn't like to be picked up. I think with some time in her new home, she will become a sweet lap cat.

Grimbolina Pretzel #1241

Hi! My name is Pretzel! Fun Fact about me! I have so many alien heads in my pattern that makes me very unique! I'm a relatively young snake but I am mature! Being nocturnal, I spend most of the day sleeping in my hide but I do like to come out in the evening to socialize. I am very easy to handle and hang out with. My Foster Family says I weighed 1774g on 4/8/2023, length -> longer than 5 feet, and they had not measured girth. They say I am the most active at night but will occasionally poke my head out during the day and I am friendly. I require my own habitat that is secure. I have managed to get out on a few occasions so my habitat will require a lock. With the right diet, habitat, substrate, temperature, and humidity I can live a long and healthy life of up to 30 to 40 years! Though I am considered on the small side now, I can get as big as 5 feet, as a female, maybe even bigger! I was transferred to the rescue by my second home. They adopted me from a neighbor and realized they love snakes but they are not a snake family. And that is okay! They wanted to give me the best chance to find my forever home, so they did right by me 🙂 Now I am looking for a family that is a snake family, is it you? If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below my bio on the website. Here is the link > https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/1241 PLEASE NOTE: 1- We can only accept applications from interested parties who are in or near San Diego County, California at this time. 2- We do not ship reptiles but we may be willing to work with you if you are willing to travel if you are still in Southern California. 3- #2 will depend on the animal that you are applying for and is at the discretion of the board of directors.

Trix

Trix is a curious, playful and energetic and loving cat. She loves to sit in the cat tree and watch out over the rescue. She does get easily annoyed by the other cats at the rescue. She does well with other cats, but the rescue has way to many for her liking. She is super sweet and lovable, but there is a catch... she would do best if she were the only cat unless she had a lot of space to roam. She was once pregnant with two kittens, but lost them. She cannot wait to meet her new family since she wasn't able to have one of her own. Chip# 990000004936287

Charlie

Charlie is a very skittish guy whose past is a mystery but has been through a lot recently. He was trapped by our friends at Buddha Rescue and Recovery after panicking and bolting from a new foster home through another rescue and surviving on his own in the woods for 10 days... previous he had been a stray in NYC who was captured by animal control with a broken pelvis and suffering from heatstroke! He was covered in old scars and we aren't sure how long he living feral on the streets or if he's ever had a "real home" Charlie seemed to have never been on a leash before and would panic and try to escape or refuse to walk, but has been learning from following the other dogs and is starting to enjoy some walks. He is still very skittish with humans and hasn't learned to bond to people just yet but gets a little more comfortable each day. He is a major escape artist when he gets scared so will need a secure home with someone patient and committed to helping him feel safe and adjust to life in a real home for what may be the first time in his life. We think he is about 5 years old, 50lbs and a pit lab mix. Charlie's ideal home would be adults only and very quiet, patient people willing to accept him for who is and celebrate the little victories as he gains confidence. Tink INDOOR ONLY

Meet the the lovely Tink! Tink came to us SOOO pregnant and literally gave birth within a weeks time. Tink came to be with us when some kittens were being given away on the Nextdoor app unaltered. We contacted the poster and told them we could help. Turns out they saved them from someone else doing the same thing only when much younger. After we rescued those kittens they said they had the aunt to them who was also looking for a home. It took some coordination and patience to finally “get” her but we finally did secure her and she gave birth to four kittens shortly thereafter. Tink was a wonderful mother and had done her job well. It is now her time to enjoy the life she was meant to have. Tink is a gentle loving cat who’s looking for a loving home. She gets along well with other cats. If you think you can be everything Tink needs to live a happy safe, indoor only life, please submit an online application at www.secondchancekitty.org.

Sabrina

Sabrina is an amazing dog who just needs someone willing to work with her. She is amazing with children (just needs work on being too excited around small children but has gotten much better with our fosters 2 year old) She is most definitely mixed with a working breed - she needs consistent exercise to be a calm house dog and will become destructive if her mind isn't stimulated. She absolutely loves sniff walks and fetch to wear her out and work her brain. She will need a more involved owner who understands her needs. She has a lot of allergies and our vet believes her skin issues may just be a chronic life long struggle. She is taking 1/2 an apoquel a day and her foster supplements with calming treats and allergy/immune boost treats daily. We have not done an elimination diet to determine exact allergies, but she is currently eating Rachel Ray Limited Ingredient (Just 6 depending on bag design/store) Lamb flavor and has been doing better! She still has bald spots and flare ups if the weather is bad or she gets stressed out. We're working on determining when it happens to try and eliminate the flare ups so her hair can grow back fully. Currently all 4 shoulders have some degree of baldness and occasional bumps from her chewing, but I've been keeping sweaters on her and the calming treats to try and get her to leave the area alone long enough for the hair to grow back. She's got some unique quirks that make her even more special! She is described as being cat like - she absolutely loves to be up high looking over everything. When outside, she can be found hopping onto the patio table to look in windows or take a nap. She's also been caught napping on top of book shelves or any surface big enough to hold her body and she'll curl up like she's meant to be there! She has no fear when it comes to humans, but can be skittish in the house when it comes to switching rooms or entering/exiting like she's unsure what will come from the other room. She does alright with other dogs in neutral territory, but does resource guard her food, kennel, and occasionally the fosters sun room if she can see the other dogs filtering in and out while she's hanging out in there. However, she responds incredibly well to correction and is eager to please! With or without treats, she loves to practice new skills and is working incredibly hard to be calm in the house! She still has trouble channeling her energy some days if she hasn't had enough stimulation, but you can see how hard she tries to maintain composure during training sessions! She's a work in progress, but her personality and temperament are perfect for someone looking for a loyal dog that's willing to do anything from cuddle on the couch to adventure with them! https://www.pupandcatco.com/We do not have a shelter facility and our pets are housed in foster homes, vet clinics and local boarding facilities. Arwen INDOOR ONLY

This beauty is Arwen! Arwen was unfixed living in a dangerous place in Stockton. We were conducting some TNR in the area and Arwen was trapped and taken to a community cat spay and neuter program where she was spayed and vaccinated. Upon recovery it became abundantly clear, she was not the slightest bit feral. Due to her going through the community program, her ear was tipped. Now that Arwen is safe in foster care, spayed she is really blossoming. She’s an extremely sweet kitty who loves hanging and lounging in your lap, you’ll even find her at times giving you lots of kisses. she’s a very unique kitty with a different kind of personality. One of her favorite things to do when she’s not playing is napping by a sunny window in her tall cat tree. The unique part about Arwen is she dislikes being pet when it’s not on her terms. She will seek her foster mom out and come snuggle in her lap often and only at that time will she allow you to pet her, she will not tolerate being pet unless only in your lap. She’s very set in her ways and will become upset if pestered too much so a fun way to interact is doing what she loves and play with a long handled toy, she really enjoys that. Arwen is very smart and adventurous, the great part is with her being independent she’s very low maintenance and great to have as a companion who’s fun to watch. She would not do well with very small children. She does great with well behaved dogs and loves playing with her foster kitty friends. If you think you’d be a good fit for Arwen, please submit an application today! All Second Chance Kitty cats are free fed a quality dry food with low or no grain and are STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY. Studies have proven cats live longer, healthier lives and on average require less financial burdens at veterinary offices when they are kept indoor only. There are so many predators out there, both human and animal and it is sadly unsafe to let them roam unattended. All of our babes come altered, microchipped, vaccinated, rabies (if age appropriate), FeLV/FIV negative unless stated otherwise , dewormed, flea treated, litter box trained and full of love. Our adoption fees are a minimum $150 donation. Anything beyond $150 helps rescue another babe. Adoption isn't an impulsive decision, it must be thought out carefully. Owning a cat is a 15 to 20+ year commitment. Can we afford a cat? If we're renting do they allow pets here? Is there a pet deposit? Can we afford the pet deposit? What if we get sick, what if the kitty becomes ill and has to see a veterinarian? Kitty requires routine check-ups, annual vaccines, quality food, litter and toys, can we afford this? These are all questions a responsible pet owner must ask themselves. If you can make this type of commitment please take a moment and visit our website at www.secondchancekitty.org to submit an application. Second Chance Kitty is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting cats, kittens and an occasional dog, escape a life of abandonment, abuse and neglect.

Ivan

You've heard of "Ivan the terrible?" Meet Ivan the "terribly cute." This handsome young adult male was rescued in New Haven. While he is a little shy and unsure of people at first, once he gets to know you, he’s a friendly boy and the gentlest cat you will ever meet. He’s very curious and loves to explore until he finds the best nook for napping in, whether it’s on a cat tree or in a laundry basket! He would make a great companion for another playful cat. He has had a full mouth extraction due to prior dental issues, so he has no teeth, but that doesn’t get in his way — he eats regular cat food, including kibble. Birth Year: 2021 ----------------- If you are interested in adopting this cat, you MUST fill out an adoption screening form on our website: www.gnhcp.org/adoptions We WILL NOT read any applications or inquiries from Petfinder. We only adopt to Connecticut residents.

Jeremy

Meet Jeremy! Jeremy loves other dogs more than people. We can relate to that! He has been let down by people so he prefers to lean on his furry friends to help him feel safe. Once Jeremy gets to know you he definitely loves you. He may not rush to sit next to you or paw at you for more pets but he is loyal to you. Jeremy may never be the dog that runs up and greets you. We hope that he can be that dog some day, but until then he needs patience. Having a home where he feels safe and loved will help him make that transition. Jeremy needs a family that is confident and able to push him out of his comfort zone to help him build his confidence. Jeremy is approx. 5 years old and 14 lbs, Jeremy is ready for his forever home. He is chipped, vaccinated, neutered, and vet-checked! Want to know more about Jeremy, meet him, adopt him!? Tom & Jerry (Bonded)

Meet Tom & Jerry! Tom & Jerry are adorable guys who has not had the best life. They were part of a hoarding situation. They were not socialized and relied on each other to feel safe. Jerry relies more on Tom but that's ok we all need somebody. We helped Jerry put all that aside and now he is ready for his forever home. Jerry will probably be a work in progress for a long time but hey who isn't! He needs lots of love and someone that will push him to be the dog we know he can be. He is hilarious and LOVES to run around the yard. Tom is a handsome chubby guy looking for his forever home with his best buddy Jerry. Tom is the more social of the two and enjoys a good petting session. He may not act like he likes it but trust us he does! Both boys walk on a leash. The will need regular grooming. You don't keep that Fabio style hair by not getting it done! They need a big yard and a pool. Jerry isn't picky, it can be a plastic baby pool but he needs one! He LOVES the water and doing zoomies around the yard. Jerry prefers a shaded spot to watch Jerry and his crazy pool antics ha ha! They are BOTH FLIGHT risks!! This is a 911 for them. Any adopter must have the ability to make sure they are locked up or there is a barrier in between the door and them. This is non-negotiable. Tom is approx. 4 years old and 19lbs Jerry is approx. 4 years old and 15lbs. Tom & Jerry are ready for their forever home since they are chipped, vaccinated, neutered, and vet-checked! COURTESY- Little Bit

Little Bit is a handsome 6 year old orange tabby. He was rescued as a sickly kitten by his original owner who recently passed away. Little Bit is now healthy, neutered, and up to date on his vaccines. Little Bit is missing most of his teeth, including his front teeth, which means the tip of his tongue is frequently out (a rather endearing look, if you ask us). Little Bit loves all people, but not all other animals; he'd prefer to be an only-pet. Thank you for your interest in adopting from HMF. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and otherwise healthy, unless noted in the description. Our adoption area is within 50 miles of Franklin/Bargersville, IN. Email hopemariesfund@gmail.com with any questions. 2/25/24 5:41 PM

Tuffy

Tuffy (born in 2020), is a shy gentleman and we’re still getting to know him. Right now, you’ll probably spot this beautiful orange boy lounging up high where he can keep a lookout, but he may venture down to say hello. He’s a little nervous around other cats, and would do well in a calm home with patient people; we suspect he will warm up and flourish in his own environment, allowing his personality to shine. Tuffy may have a chronic inflammatory disease that affects his paw pads, so it’s possible he will need to be on medication periodically, and our front office staff can tell you more. Profile: • Okay with other cats • Feelings about young children and dogs unknown • Shy • Recommended indoor-only due to shyness and health issues • Gentle and friendly when he gets to know you

Minny

Minny loves to climb on cat furniture and is pretty fast at reaching the top of towers. She is quick but fairly docile for a young cat. She is the youngest cat in a room of adult cats and she does well with everyone. She has her mom, who is likely only six months older, to play with and they wrestle from time to time. They are much more interested in human attention. Minny and her mom, Emmie, will be adopted as a pair as they are bonded and good playmates. Minny is not crazy like some kittens and while friendly and outgoing, is watchful for about a minute before she figures out a way to your lap. Both very sweet cats who are beautiful. The type of cat that you see in a painting of an old time bookstore in the sun spot. If you are interested in adopting Minny and Emmie: Other pets in the home must be current on vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventative and altered. Applicants will be screened, including a home visit. If you would like to meet them, complete an application on our website dogwoodfarmsanctuary.com and then request an appointment. Thanks for your interest in Minny. We will continue to take applications until we find the right match.

Emmie

Emmie is very outgoing and friendly. She is smart and acclimates well to new environments. She will solicit getting petted and has a happy and confident manner. She has a tiny white mustache and we called her milkstache for a while, "Em" for short. And then it became "Emmie." After rescuing Emmie, we were informed that she had one kitten left at animal control. We didn't know about the kitten, and went back to retrieve her. The instantly recognized each other and play together. We would like to adopt Emmie with her 4-5 month old kitten, Minny, who is her mini me. If you are interested in adopting Emmie: Other pets in the home must be current on vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventative and altered. Applicants will be screened, including a home visit.
