Nemo

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Nemo is one of a group of feral LGDs that were trapped south of Dallas in Wilmer, TX. He and his siblings were born to working parents who guarded a herd of Boer goats. They were never handled as puppies so grew up completely unsocialized. Nemo and his brothers Crush and Bruce are excellent livestock guardians. It's a little more work to get them examined by our vet, vaccinated, and heartworm tested each year, but good guardians are worth the extra effort.

Blanca

Blanca is an adorable 3yr old white pit bull. She’s about 40lbs of huggable love. She was found wandering in Anasco, Puerto Rico, with a collar embedded in her neck. She was rescued, but her new friends couldn’t keep her. Her neck has now healed and she has been spayed and is in great health. Blanca is wonderful with humans. She loves to sit on the sofa and cuddle while binging the next great series. She is 100% housebroken. She loves to play. She is a strong dog and still pulls on the leash and needs to learn a little patience on her walks. She will sit and wait to eat until given permission, like a good girl. Blanca is looking for her forever home. Blanca is very athletic and would be great for an adopter who is an outdoorsy type who loves to hike and be outside. She knows lots of commands! She should be with an adopter/family that knows about the super sweet muscular Pittie breed. She should be the only pet. No cats, dogs, small animals, lizards, snakes, and toddlers. If you are experienced with the breed, love exercise, and want a cuddle buddy, please apply! If you wish to meet them or find out more about them that is not included in their profile, please fill out our adoption application at http://bit.ly/PSDAdopt and our adoption counselor will contact you as soon as possible. If they are listed on PetFinder, they have not yet been adopted. We take them off PetFinder when we have received enough applications, but that does not mean they have been adopted. We do not know who the parents were nor what size they were, so we cannot tell you what breed they are nor what size they will eventually achieve.

Buttercup

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application. If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application. If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application. Meet Buttercup!Buttercup is currently being fostered in the Ocean Beach area and can frequently be seen walking in Liberty Station or enjoying some doggy play time at the OB dog park. She is quite the rave! In fact, her foster family has provided several cute little facts about Buttercup: 1) Buttercup likes to be sung to! She'll hold your hand with her paw and stare into your eyes when you sing to her and if you start singing to her when she's not in front of you, she runs over and sits and holds your hand with her paw. She is a sweet girl that likes a LOT of attention and love! It is our hope that she will find a forever family that will give her all the love she deserves! 2) Buttercup carries her stuffed turtle with her wherever she goes! I need to bring her turtle to the adoption events, so that when she finds her forever family, her turtle can go home with her. She is super funny about her turtle. The other day, she forgot it outside in the cold. The door was shut to keep the cold outside, so she stood by the door waiting and when we let her out, she immediately ran and grabbed her turtle and came back inside (see the photo of Buttercup and her turtle taking a nap on her cot). 3) Buttercup is the BEST dog park dog or a pup that you can take for a beer somewhere, like The Dog Society, which has a dog play area. She is also an amazing running partner and likes to go for walks. We have been working with her so that she learns not to "pull" hard on walks and she has made great progress! Our 7 year old has been able to walk her and keep a hold of her leash. She loves all dogs of any size, is great with kids, and is kennel and potty trained. She sleeps in her kennel through the night. During the day she has been in her kennel 2-5 hours and does well, especially if she is given a chew treat or TV/music is left on during the daytime. When she is out in the yard, she only barks if another dog should bark or if someone comes to the gate. Otherwise she keeps herself entertained by checking things out in the yard, looking for something to play with or chew. 4) We first started to foster Buttercup in October and she has been with our family most of the time since then (minus a week or so during the holidays). She is a silly and energetic girl! She is learning the rules of the house, however she is very smart and catches on quickly. In fact she actually used her intelligence the first month or so trying to figure out ways around the rules. LOL! With consistency on our part, she assimilated well. Buttercup would do best with a knowledgeable dog owner, who will keep up on her training. If you would like to schedule a "meet and greet" without submitting an application, please email us at animalrescuers@icloud.com to schedule a short phone call. We can schedule a meet and greet anywhere within 15 miles of the 92110 zip code. Jack

Please meet Jack. He is a beautiful three year old Lab with all the great Lab traits except he does not like to move he was adopted out of a shelter in KS by a wonderful Military family and they have realized moving all the time is not good for him. He also wants another dog to play with and his sister Wilma is not that interested. Jack has allergies and his family has done all the testing and we have his food narrowed down. He can urinate submissively and can react to some men but we know with a stable home he will be the best pup he can be.

Devlin

Meet Devlin! This outgoing "cow kitty" was approximately 1.5 years old when he entered Kitty Devore foster care in May 2023 after his rescue from Devore Shelter. Devlin's spirit purrs with a thrumming incentive to explore, investigate, and engage with everything his environment offers. Relentlessly inquisitive, his time spent lounging on your lap will always be short-lived as something beyond will always beguile his attention. And even if nothing does, his need to dart, dash, and zoom around the room to stretch his restless muscles will overtake him. It probably goes without saying that Devlin covets toys of all shapes, colors, and sizes. If none are provided, this clever and resourceful guy can wrangle just about anything into a plaything that provides endless amusement. Churus kitty treats are the only things that captivate his attention more. He's obsessed with them! As intrigued by the world around him as Devlin is, he keeps his observations to himself, preferring to offer conversational meows sparingly. Yet, one cannot fault his manners as he always offers unique and musical vocal greetings to his humans and, occasionally and to the very privileged, he'll volunteer little love bites of affection. But, unlike many young kitties, Devlin refrains from extending his claws when tussling with human hands, arms, and legs. Given his playful spirit infused with a soaring and dynamic energy level, Devlin would thrive in a home with another dynamic kitty with an exuberance equal to his own. Do you have an active, outgoing kitty longing for a fun-loving kindred spirit? Or, are you seeking a vivacious house companion to liven up your days? If so, fill out an application for Devlin today at www.kittydevorerescue.org!

Shortstop

I'm orange and ready to play ball, my name is Shortstop. I can be so silly and jumpy. I like snuggles and attention, though not a fan of being picked up. I would do great with cats that like to chase and play. Climbing is super fun so please make sure I have a cat tree. My favorite toys are balls and things I can bat around, I'm practicing for the major kitty league. Okay with dogs but I might be too much for little ones. Will you adopt me? Easter

Hello there, I'm Easter! My journey to the shelter is a bit of a hoot. See, I was chasing my tail (yes, I do that, it's hilarious) and I ended up rolling into a van full of yoga mats. Next thing I knew, I was at this cool place where they feed me and let me chase my tail as much as I want! I'm a fun-loving, goofy guy with energy to spare. I've got a sweet side too, though I play it cool. I'm also quite the independent fellow, but I wouldn't mind sharing my silliness with you. So, if you're looking for a playful, sweet, and funny companion, I'm your guy!
