Spencer

Hi, my name is Spencer! I may be blind, but I definitely don't let that stop me. I must be adopted with my BFF Bianca. She's the best! I LOVE people of all ages. I like to stand up on my hind legs to feel you with my paws, and I love giving kisses. I can adapt to almost any indoor environment once I get used to the space, especially with my kitty friend Bianca there to help me. Garfield FIV+

Hello friends! Who doesn't love a big orange kitty?! Please, put your paws together for the amazing, the adorable...Garfield! This beautiful boy is 5 years 7 months young and has lots of love to give. Garfield was a neighborhood wanderer, semi-feral, living outside for years until his foster mom could trap him and take him to Scruffy for safety. Naturally, he was scared and nervous, but in time he realized getting pets, and attention was better than eating garbage and sleeping in the dirt. It has been a slow process for Garfield; trust is not earned overnight, so we ask that Garfield's new family be patient and understanding and give him the time he needs to feel safe in his new home. He does not like when someone towers over him; it may make him nervous. He can be held, but while you are sitting down, he feels unsafe when you are standing up. He likes to hide, so keeping him in a separate room without many hiding spots would be best when getting him acclimated to your home. Garfield is currently residing with his foster mom, and with help from his foster cat sisters - he is working on his catfidence skills. Having a friendly female cat in the home has been immensely helpful for Garfield. And what does Garfield love? How can you begin creating a bond with this boy? With food, of course! Garfield is a foodie, and when it's time to eat, he will be pretty vocal and give you that extra big purr! Food will motivate him to befriend you, and he accepts pets when eating. Please keep in mind that Garfield is just over 10 lbs...we ask that his food be measured to ensure he does not become overweight. Chunky orange cats are cute...but it's not the healthiest. Garfield is a wonderful work in progress! He enjoys playing with his foster cat sisters and lounging on a comfy chair or sofa, and if you have a window with a view - he will happily bird or bug watch for hours! Once you are accepted into his circle of trust, he will allow you to hold him like a baby...sitting down, of course. Garfield will do best in a quiet home without young children. He might be OK with a calm, respectful dog; another friendly cat in the home is ideal. Garfield is FIV+, and we'd like to include some info regarding FIV+ felines and what that will mean for him. FIV is a manageable condition, and cats with FIV can still live happy, full lives! https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/fiv-cats-faqs-feline-immunodeficiency-virus Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! Luna

DOB: Approx: Jan 30, 2023 (estimated) Gender: Female Breed: Belgian Malinois cross Energy Level: High Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Only 1 introduction Good with children: Yes Location: Calgary, AB Hi my name is Luna! I was born sometime in January, so I am currently still a puppy. I have short hair, so I do not shed much! (bonus). They expect I am a Belgian Malinois cross, so I will be big, very intelligent, and high energy. I love lots of playtime, with either my foster sibling, or kids. I also LOVE to nap for a few hours in between. I am working on learning redirecting and appropriate things to chew on! I am pretty much potty trained if there is consistency throughout my day. I am working on crate training for a few hours at a time, but I have also had free reign of the house with no issues - I just chills with the other dog at the front window to watch the world go by. I sleeps through the night uncrated, in her dog bed in the upstairs hall. I have been introduced to the neighbour cat and they got along ok. I would do best in a home that either has another younger dog for her to play with, or in a work-from-home household. Currently I have both and am very happy! I would do great at the dog park, longer hikes, and am a good leash walker, I also love to spend time in the backyard! My foster mom says I am easy going! I like to “talk” a lot. But I don’t really bark much but I will tell you when I am hungry, need to go out, or want to play. Or sometimes she is just telling you a story 🙂 Do you think we would be a perfect match? Hit apply and let’s find out! Kobe von Kotzen"

Kobe von Kotzen is a stunning 2 year old German Shepherd. Sweet Kobe is an easy-going lover boy who is smart and eager to please. Young but past the puppy stage, he knows some of his basic commands and takes treats gently. He may start off his walk excited to get outside and explore the world but, like all young shepherds, with some guidance he settles in and paces nicely. He’s a fan of humans and dogs alike; he enjoys greeting and mingling with his furry friends but is always circling back to his human friends for pets and attention. (He says no to cat friends.) Come by and meet this gorgeous golden boy! Westside dog biographies, availability and new photos are updated regularly on our website!
